Greetings!
Today is Mr. YBR's "golfing after work" day and I just LOVE this day because I can get so much accomplished! My boys don't really care about what time they eat or what they eat or if they eat....just kidding. What I mean is that when I don't have to watch the clock to get supper started, etc.....I can be alittle more carefree with my time and if I am alittle too carefree with my time....well, that is where Sonic rescues me!
Shhhhh...don't tell my little secret or he may stop golfing........yeh, right! *smirk*
So today I was up bright and early, had my coffee and headed out to the shop to throw some poly on a table that I am redoing. I have to say it is looking lovely! I'll show all of you when she is done.
Then I wandered back in....ya know polyurethane smells real good so I didn't hang out there very long....and I ran smack dab into (scary music in the background)....the dining room...eeck!
This room has been a royal pain in my neck and so I have been avoiding it for a week or so until today and I could stand it no longer.
Let me recap: This is what I started with a week (or so) ago.....
A gold ceiling that needed to be painted......and then brown bag walls that I HAD to wallpaper over. UGH...Wallpaper is NOT my friend.
I used Beadboard Paintable wallpaper from Lowe's and it came out pretty well, I think.
Next up was paint! I LOVE to paint!
I chose Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray and I really like it!
Tomorrow I will paint the lower part of the wall....just going with SW Bright White and the trim will return to it's white roots also. Ahhhhh....crisp and clean and lovely.
Ok...so I know you were snooping around in the pics. I know because I do it too! Did you see something shiny? Or rather, something that is supposed to be shiny? LOL
Check this baby out....
I rescued her from Craigslist for 50 bucks! She's not looking so glorious right now but alittle TLC, Brasso and some crystal cleaning and she will be the star of the show over my farm table! Well, the farm table will get a work over too before it's all over with! No one gets out of this unharmed!
I cannot wait for the Great Reveal!
That's it for me today. Gotta go sand the table in the shop and slap another coat of poly on her.....then I suppose I had better feed the natives before they get restless and require an emergency trip to Sonic.
Darn, we missed Happy Hour again!

I am impressed. The walls turned out wonderfully. I was not sure how difficult it would be to cover the brown paper bag effect.
ReplyDeleteThe BBW cover up turned out ok....still not exactly what I had hoped for. "The picture in the head" rarely does! But they will work. The application worked fine although I do HATE to wallpaper and I do not use the "H" word lightly! Thanks for reading.... :)
ReplyDeleteI did not realize that you wallpapered in here! I guess that is what I get for skimming!:( since u r a pro come on over and help me wallpaper the half bath ceiling!;)
